Ady Gil Facing Facts Video Footage Analysed

What Really Happened Ady Gil

Watch the first 8 seconds of this video very carefully as you can clearly see that the Japanese Whaling vessel Shonan Maru Number 2 is listing as she turns to Starboard from her original course. Had she stayed true to her course this would never have turned out the way it did. So is this the only factor that comes into play here? The answer to that question is a big NO as we now focus our attention on the water cannons from the Shonan Maru.

If any of you know what it is like going through big seas you will understand that it is very hard to see. Now multiple that at least 100 times having water cannons blasted over you, this skipper and crew would not have seen the dangers unfolding.

At the nine second mark of this footage the Shonan Maru now had far superior advantage blasting water on the Ady Gil that would have now been severely blinded by the onslaught from the water cannons. The Japanese Whaling ship planned this brutal attack very well blindsiding the Ady Gil. Had the whaling ship turned to port being a left hand turn they would have passed well clear. Notice at the Ten second mark that the Whaler ship was still listing as you would expect when turning to starboard. At 15 seconds when the Ady Gil was under power she may have had a better view of the danger that was unfolding as she tried to take evasive action to avoid collision.

Seventeen second mark was the point of this cowardly ramming by the Shonan Maru, which is only 2 seconds from the time that the Ady Gil was applying power to avoid being rammed and two seconds is not enough time to make much difference. The Shonan Maru was still blasting the Ady Gil and crew aboard with water cannons after the initial deliberate ramming.

At 18 and 19 seconds the Whaling ship is listing heavily as she turns to port after smashing the Ady Gil apart. Notice how the Whaling ship at 29 seconds is still blasting water over the Ady Gil after she had suffered a direct impact with no care of injuries or death that they may have caused. From this point to the 38 second mark the Whaling vessel was still aiming water cannons with all dieregard for life aboard the Ady Gil.

Summary of Key Points

This was a well executed attack on a vessel of peace protesting the ban on whaling. People talk about the protesters throwing stink bombs, using lasers aimed at the bridge but that is a far cry from mowing down a small vessel made of plastics compared to a massive whaling ship.

I personally feel that the Japanese have a bee in their bonnet and this is their way of sticking it to the western world. It is high time that Japan gets one stuck back at them being dealt a hard blow right where it hurts to show them that we have had enough and we are not going to tolerate this carry on any longer.

There are many Japanese people that are against the actions of this practice of whaling and I urge you all not to judge a whole race of people for the sake of big companies making them looked down upon. But I do ask you all to take action make noise be heard far and wide.
