Paul's Dive Blog May 2009

Welcome to my Dive Blog for May of 2009. I cannot believe that we have already past through April without even writing in what I have been up to. Oh well! This month I am sure will make for some intersting reading. Pauls Dive Blog is all about my daily routines and things that I get up to while creating the Dive Planet website with my good friend and partner in the site Julian Snelgrove. Join me Now as we embark on a voyage of mayhem lol.

Blog Entry 01 May: Month of Madness

Hi All!, Well what a month April was!, it went so fast for me due to all the ongoings like rediscovering life as a single male one could say. But this whole housework thing has come as a bit of a shock, so if anyone out there wants to do my washing, ironing, cook me my meals then just let me know. I will let you do that and more and the best thing is I will not even charge you lol, All jokes aside the biggest single thing in any relationship is communication. Once things break down people tend to drift apart on different pathways and it can be very hard trying to find the effort or things to bring a relationship back together. Well at least my Ex and myself are friends and can communicate enough to make life easier for our girls.

The most important thing for myself is having good friendships based upon communication and understanding of eachothers feelings. Then you have to take in negative viewpoints of others that even though care can end up doing more damage than good in a friendship that has evolved over time.

On to more positive issues on our Homepage I have just put up a link after talking to Andrew Fox of the Great White Shark Diving Experience in South Australia. We have limited places available so you can go diving with the Great white Sharks at the Neptune Islands half price. Yep that is right you will only pay half price in the last two trips in May here at Dive Planet, so make sure you check it out. Click the shark banner link opposite to find out all the info and to see the video of shark diving Rodney Fox

I have been busy editing videos that are now featuring in parts of our site like the NZ Fur Seals and Spearfishing sections. For a complete update on what is new just take a look at our What's New section on the Dive Planet Homepage. Scuba Gear Reviews section id now online and we are starting to populate these pages. I expect to have a good amount of content in here over the coming month.

Blog Entry 02 May: Winter Diving

Well it certainly is starting to get a bit Chilly now and I am real glad that I am not diving today with all the rain and wind that we have up here in Auckland. But if all goes well Sunday could be the day for getting wet. It is just a shame that my Dive Buddy Mel is knee deep in study and unable to share the cold waters with me around the Matakana and Leigh coastline. Oh well at least she is doing study!! That's it for me for today as I am on my way to pick up a new wetsuit for Spearfishing.

Blog Entry 03 May: Choices

Well after having a late night last night chilling out with a wine or a bottle lol, working on the site I decided not to dive today, but I am starting to wish I did take that drive down to the Aldermans. Never mind I Now have no excuse for updating our image maps and optimization of the site. They say that over 80% of websites are not optimized correctly and you can see how good optimization generates Google listings and traffic flow through your site. I spend quite a bit of time in this area as there is no point having great pages of info and nobody being able to find them on Google or other search engines.

On a very positive note, a lovely young lady with the Elasmobranch society is going to be featuring articles and information in a new section of our Shark Research here on Dive Planet. Funny enough I have just learnt that Mikki was the one showing off the perspectives of how sharks see the world in a doco I was in called Ultimate Shark with National Geographic. I am really looking forward to building her section as we embark on another learning cycle about our sharks.

Blog Entry 10 May: Ezine Articles

Hi Friends, Well I have to say that I have been doing some more articles to feature on Ezine. This would have to be one of the best if not the best article publishing networks. I have found this to generate some good interest eventhough I am still a Newbie in this area. With the Right amount of work and relevant articles you can generate a whole heap of quality links back to your website. Just click the link here to go to my EZINE ARTICLES pages.

As I have only just finished being filmed in possibly my last doco of my Shark Attack / Encounter I am now really keen to see how it is going to look. Updates as to the series Your Worst Animal Nightmares can been found by clicking this link.

Blog Entry 17 May: State of Economy - Cuisine

I don't know about how you all feel? But all this talk of recession, doom and gloom is somewhat depressing isn't it? We hold the keys in our hands and we all need to be a bit more confident and start spending. Companies need to advertise supporting the smaller sites and targeting people from all walks of life with value products and services. If we were all advertising and spending money then our economy would be looking a lot better. In saying this all companies should do as we are doing here on Dive Planet, by reducing our Advertise rates making it more affordable for people to get their products and services out there to the purchasers. More self promotion in the way of cost reductions instead of putting prices up to cover losses is the only way to go.

If there is one industry that is still making heads way then this would have to be the Cafes and Restaurants as we all need to let our hair down and relax. So to all you Aucklanders out there that are looking for a great place to dine with very good prices you cannot go past an old favorite of mine in Greenwoods corner Epsom. Bosco Verde is a fantastic Italian restaurant that has the most tasteful cuisine at very good prices. Ph 6254319 and say Paul recommended you. You will not be disappointed!!

Blog Entry 27 May: Update

Wow, it has been a long stint from my last Blog entry but things have been very busy here on the Dive Planet website. If you have not seen our Recipes and Cuisine setion I suggest you do. Our own Chef has some nice treats in their showing you how to cook those Bugs, Yes I do mean crayfish and not the little ones the children bring in from the garden!!

Your worst Animal Nightmares is NOW about to be aired in the USA on the local market so click the link here and find out all the latest info: I am also putting together a NEW section on Great White Shark adoption in conjunction with Andrew Fox. Adopting a shark gives more money to researchers to further carry out tests and studies so we too can learn more about these beautiful Predators of our Wild Blue Oceans. Sharks play a very important part in the delicate balance of our marine echo system so it is vital that we start to educate others now, of their importance. Before it is too LATE!!

You can now contact me on Skype paul_diveplanet as well as on Twitter. Paul Morris Dive Planet Twitter Oh well that is about it for me. looking forward to going out for a dive on Sunday with the Great Team of Goat Island Dive.
