Baitfish Canterbury Wreck Dive Deepwater Cove

Baitfish Canterbury Wreck

The former HMNZS Canterbury F - 421 is located at Deepwater Cove in the stunning bay of Islands. In a little over a year this protector of NZ is already taking on a new role attracting divers from across the Globe. See all the baitfish that are seeking refuge within her bounds from other predatory fish. Here at diveplanet we recommend NORTHLAND DIVE for an experience of a lifetime exploring this magnificent wreck.

Not only baitfish can be seen here as Jewel Annemones are spreading over her along with thick lush kelp beds attracting multiple spoecies of fish that now have found a new home around the Canterbury.

Nudibranchs along with resident crayfish can be found on and within the Canterbury wreck as well as a resident octopus or two making this dive spectacular. John Dory, Leather jackets, Pigfish and Wrasse are amongst the other species that you will find grazing this new garden of eden in Deepwater Cove.

This video was submitted to Dive Planet by the Great Team of Northland Dive. When you want to go and dive the Canterbury there is none better than the Northland Dive Team. Check out all the great Dive Courses that you can do on the Canterbury with Northland Dive here.
