About the Cavalli Islands Dive Sites

By Sea its 5km form Matauri Bay to Tokananohia Reef - bluefish reef. Taheke Reef is 8 meters to the top of reef. Drop-offs to 45  m. Here there are very exposed offshore sites with currents. Recommended for experienced scuba divers only. There is spectacular fish life on offer here ranging from Sharks, whales to barracuda.

 

Panak Island, the reef is north of the Island and Motutakapu Island the reef runs Norwest to Takaroto Rock. Outer islands offer extensive fish life.

 

Frenchman's Reef is a shallow reef with a central tunnel. Great night diving can be had here.

 

You may choose to wreck dive the Rainbow warrior in depths of 22-27 meters on a sandy bottom. It is a 9km boat trip from good beach launch sites with a visibility of 10m plus. Click here for more information on the Rainbow Warrior within our wreck diving section.
