Diving the Canyon is made up of a pinnacle that descends steeply on all sides, but towards the island it dips into a 5 Canyon. North of Motu Kapiti is an unnamed shallow patch where boats can safely anchor.
Here is a wide Canyon that runs parallel with the island. At this canyon you will find that it has one dark and one sunlit wall, that descends down to 35m where it joins the slope to the undivable abyss. You will find quite a selection of small fish here, like half-banded perches and at the deep end even splendid perch. This is also suitable for night diving for exzperienced divers only due to the depth of the dive.
