Dive Cave Bay is located on the eastern side of Tawhiti Rahi Island and is an optimal place to dive in southwest, west and northwest winds as this bay is totally protected.
Sightings of the New Zealand Fur seals have been made here as they play and swim vigorously around the boats belching out their eerie squeals. Surprisingly with all this commotion know one has ever sighted the Great White shark, as their favourite food is the fur seal.
Short-tailed Stingrays are a common sight and on occasions there have been great shots captured on film of them in a heavily pregnant state. Orcas are also seen around this area as they cruise the coastline targeting the stingrays as a tasty meal that they so love to eat. As well as the Orcas I have heard of Brydes whales passing within the Poor Knight islands. Don't wait book your Dive Cave Bay trip now.
