El Torito Cave is a common place for divers to investigate after ascending from a deep dive. The El Torito cave was named after the boat of an Australian explorer Walt Deas.
This area is mainly made up of kelp forests but there is a wall around the 20 metre mark that one can find some interesting life forms and moray eels. This area also has its hazards for boaties as there are numerous rocks that lay just below the surface awaiting an unexpectant boatie to come across. This is a very tricky place to navigate and extra care should be taken at all times.
Photography here can be very good and the visibility can get in excess of 20 metres. El Torito Cave and surrounding areas provide excellent night diving, during which the cave itself may bring some disorientation for unexpecting divers. Always dive within your limits especially at night.
