The Magic wall adjacent to Ngaio rock is a fantastic dive and well worth the venturing to this spot. Encrusted with multiple coloured sponges around cracks and crevices that are home to the curious moray eels.
Another one of New Zealand's great icons the Kingfish occasionally hangs around the wall targeting prey within the safety of the reserve. Some of these Kingi's are huge making for spectacular viewing as they dart past at a great rate of knots. Anemones and soft corals with nudibranchs of various types are my favourites to view and take shots of.
Currents here can be swift at times and this location is best suited for advanced divers as is much of the Poor Knight Islands. Just around the corner is Jan's tunnel and Kev's cave.
Stunning wall colours feature on the walls at the Knights, that also offer some interesting viewing for the adventurous photographer?
