Middle Arch has become one of the most well-known and popular dive sites at the Poor Knights. There is prolific fish life in this archway with depths ranging from 6 to 16 meters.
The species here include Wrasse and school fish along with the occasional sighting of a Ray or two, gliding by. Other residents include a pair of Lord Howe coral fish and sightings of the yellow-banded Perch making for some good photographic opportunities.
Over the south side, the reef falls away to a sandy bottom with a depth of around 40 metres where a variety of Moray eels can be spotted.
This is an area suited to all levels of divers and generally there is no need to descend greater than 20 odd metres.
