The Red Baron Cave is an enchanting dive location as you descend down through what appears to be a cloud of demoiselles arriving at a depth of 19 metres. Fining on a North bound direction you will timely reach the first chimney.
This opening is large allowing easy access leading through into the crystal clear waters enhanced by the shimmering light penetrating from the surface during your exploration of these amazing shafts.
Peeking around in the cracks and crevices the shy rock cod hiding from the light will come into view, big eyes and banded coral shrimp can also be seen here.
As you hover in the middle of this chimney taking in the majestic movements of the pink Mao-mao as you gradually ascend within their level. Divers have seen a pair of Lord Howe Island coral fish around the 10-metre mark and that is unusual to see them at this depth. These fish are unlike a lot of fish as they only mate with one partner for life.
Nudibranchs can be found around here at the 5-meter mark making another great opportunity to capture these majestic creatures on film for an everlasting memory of the adventurous Poor Knights
