When you dive Rogers Rocks at the Poor Knights the currents that run through this channel area can be quite strong at times and care should be adhered to. The rocks themselves are interestingly covered in kelps and weeds like the sea lettuce around the boulders.
Crayfish, Trumpeter, and leather jackets are a common sight so is theTriggerfish that play in this area. The marine life at the Poor Knights are so use to divers that they all come out of hiding as if to check us out. You may feel that we are the ones on display.
The moray eels like a scratch by the backs of their heads but care should be taken for any signs of aggression. The last thing you want is for them to sink those sharp teeth into you and lock their jaws.
I have seen some big packhorse crayfish here that made me wish they were elsewhere having visions of them on a platter. Temptation is not an option to have in mind when diving in this unique marine reserve
