Here you will find exploring this location that Serpent Rock steps out from the sand shelf dropping away to the steep abyss. On the southern side, the sand gently slopes away firstly only to rapidly drop away to merge into a sloping rock with a garden of beadlet corals.
Beginning at around 30m deep on the north-eastern side it drops away fast into the deep, and at its tip there is a sheer drop to over 50m deep. Now that explains the right name of Kamakazi as going down here you could be in a tab of trouble. Here there was once a beautiful black coral tree at 36 metres of depth that was admired and visited by many divers from across the globe. But in 1983 it sadly died around the time that most of the Demoiselles died.
Hopefully we will see other trees start to form in this area as it is rejuvinating itself. It is possible to do a full circle dive around The Serpent Kaka rock and a lot of divers find this very rewarding. You will find some caves and shafts that are located on tjhe western side and these are well worth exploring for the experienced diver. This place full of fish of all kinds and one can find pink maomao sleeping upside down under overhangs. Seeing fish upside down is a strange sight.
