Sombre Forest Poor Knights Islands

Dive Sombre Forest Poor Knights

The Sombre Forest really lives up to its name as this dive site at the Poor Knights Islands is usually in the dark. This is because of the high cliffs to the east and north blocking direct sunlight down intro the Sombre Forest. You will find that under water, the cliffs extend into a kelp forest that appears motionless.

The Sombre Forest is also sheltered from storms, thus the reason why a good dive can still be had, exploring the walls at shallow depths. For the Photographers there are good opportunities to photograph the cathedral light in the early morning hours.
