There are many types of Scuba diving wetsuits available of the Market today Like Cressi, Mares, 2001, just to name a few. As a Scuba diver I have always stuck to the main brands like mares until I tried a Wettie wetsuit that is designed for Spearo divers and I have to say it was pretty good. This made me look at other brands and now I am committed to my new Riffe 7mm suit. The reason for this comes down to comfort and staying warmer longer than my mates in the traditional dive suit that is commonly used. This is not to say that these other wetsuits are bad but just a preffered suit to wear. I would highly recommend to all to try an Ocean Hunter wetsuit, Picasso, or Riffe suit especially not forgetting Darren's wettie wetsuit that I started out in. |
Wetsuit Reviews Write A Review |
Choosing the right wetsuit can be a task in itself for many people trying to decide what one is best. Should you get a one piece suit or a two piece suit? Should it have a hood or should this be an add on. Here we will look at wetsuits that are commonly used by New Zealand Divers and we will look at the advantages and disadvantages of all. Firstly I like having a hooded wetsuit whereas others do not like having the hood for diving in summer. My current wetsuit is one produced by 2001 wetsuits as I find them to be great value for money as well as very durable. There are many types and styles on the market and this coming winter season I am going to be trying out Spearfishing, Freediving wetsuits as they hug the body a lot closer minimizing the amount of water trapped between the wetsuit and the skin. If it is good enough for the spearo's in winter I am sure it will be good enough for me but only time will tell. I will be updating my findings about the use of Freediving suits after easter once I have dived the Canterbury Wreck with the Team of Northland Dive. The suit that I have chosen to trial first is the Wettie Brand that is designed by Darren Shields. This wetsuit along with others like the ones from OceanHunter, 2001 wetsuits andPinnacle are just a few that we plan on bringing you information about in our Reviews. |
